Percy Jackson and The Lightning Thief -dream job slipping through my fingers!

I was recently considered (amongst a few unknown artists) to illustrate a 124 page graphic Novel based on the Percy jackson Book series that has become so very popular over the past few years. The director of Harry Potter is also making the first movie based on the book which is coming out Presidents Day of 2010. I had to do some sample sketches at first, which you can see below, yet a different artist was chosen for the project.

This is a cover mock up of the original book cover. The Comic author was going for a combination between the original book and the Movie coming out. This is my interpretation of that concept.
