MANBAT on DC DUESDAY

More crap from the crapshack central... in a quickshot manner.

DC: MANBAT = So awesome! MARVEL: MORBIUS the living Vampire! GIL KANE HAS GOT THE GROOVE! Morbius looks kinda tired or hung over on something. If you think about it, the Comic Vampire/Bat-thing is a pretty great and hilarious (illustrative) concept.

MORE HEX - VERTIGO VEDNESDAY

Learning, learning, learning... the more the better. I have long hesitated to just break into the tips and curves that make the look of the sable brush - relying on it more for it's precision (...and all the unforgiving mess ups...) it enables. But I figured I wanna learn this stuff, since all of that classic inking of the likes of CANIFF, MARSH and TOTH really turns me on AND I wanted to catch a glimpse of how that works just purely out of interest. Of course, that's a path not thread lightly, as these are the masters of Comics, each one of them a hallmark of their own, their greatness cemented by thousands of fantastic drawings.

So I'm just foolin' and having fun with my humble stumblings and onwards I go.
Another thing that I detect would be, that I'm applying some of the lines/techniques my friend SAM HITI brought to Killer hights... that makes me even more uncomfortable, but I hope this to be only a cough that will pass, a demon, quickly driven out by more healthy drawing and thinking.

So, ta! ...And THANKS for reading all that!

THE JONAH HEX - VERTIGO VEDNESDAY

...3.

...2.

1....

Doodlin' and shit and messin' round with the Hex, which I shouldn't, or he'll put me under the decks! Kind of weird that I had to get this guy into my head thru the movie that's coming up (HELL, it's going to be sooo trashy and goofy...), because I really enjoyed reading TWO GUN MOJO, but I haven't read his book since they gave him the short hair.

Just joking there. The Darwin Cook covers look as awesome as ever and at some point I will get into the Jimmy P run. I hear it's pretty great and straight forward.

DC DUESDAY

A more elaborate TWO-FACE. I currenly like to check out the huge backdrop of Comic art and try to figure out how they did it back then. For sure, I'm just a nutjob trying to figure out laws of nature when it comes to this, but it's fun to do something else when I start drawing. Those guys really had it figured out...

...Joker...

Aaaaand some whacky Batman faces, For some reason I always liked the battered and grumpy looking Batman better then the steroid and spandex version. Must have been the coloring. Note: 60's Batman and older excluded.
